The protagonists can find and use a variety of weapons throughout the night in Until Dawn.

Ashley
- Scissors - Ashley can find a pair of scissors under a lightbulb catalogue in the basement that she can later use to stab The Psycho.
Chris
- Shotgun - Chris uses a shotgun twice. In Chapter 1, he practices his aim at the shooting range by the cable car station. He uses a double-barreled shotgun to shoot cans and sandbags. He also has the opportunity to shoot a squirrel or to avoid it. In Chapter 8, The Stranger gives Chris a shotgun which he can use to shoot the Wendigo on the way back from the shed.
- Pistol - Once Ashley and Chris fall into a trap, the Psycho gives Chris a pistol which he is told he must use to shoot either himself or Ashley, or else they will both die. The pistol is filled with blanks and neither Chris nor Ashley can die in the trap.
- Wooden Beam - If Chris said he would save Ashley from the saw trap, Josh will later antagonize Chris. This causes Chris to consider violence and pick up a narrow strip of wood in the shed. Regardless of whom Chris said he would save in the trap, he has the option to knock Josh out with the beam after Mike threatens Josh with the pistol.
- Revolver - When opening the door for The Stranger, Mike gives Chris the revolver if he asks and if he hadn't knocked Josh out with the wooden beam. The Stranger always takes the revolver out of Chris' hand before he can shoot, regardless of hitting the QTE.
Emily
- Flare Gun - Emily can find a flare gun at the top of the radio tower. She can keep the flare gun, give it to Matt, or shoot it into the sky. If she keeps the flare gun, she can later use it to shoot the Wendigo and avoid being bitten.
- Flares - Given by the Stranger, Emily uses the flares to light her way through the mines and potentially ward off the Wendigo.
Jessica
- Snowball - In Chapter 1, Jessica has a snowball fight with Mike and can strike him with snowballs if her aim is good enough. She may also use a snowball to unintentionally kill a bird.
- Shovel - If Jessica and Matt are alive by Chapter 10, Jess finds and uses a shovel to try to smack Matt, thinking he's another monster.
Matt
- Axe - Matt can use an axe to smash down the door of the cable car station, and to kill one of the elk that backed him and Emily towards the edge of a cliff.
- Flare Gun - If Emily gives Matt the flare gun, depending on whether he agreed with her to go to tower or not, he will either shoot it into the sky to signal for help or will be able to use it to shoot a Wendigo and save his life if he tries to save Emily on the falling tower.
Mike
- Snowball - At the cable car station, Mike has a snowball fight with Jessica. If the player doesn't react in time, Mike will hit Jessica with one or more snowballs.
- Hunting Rifle - Mike grabs a rifle from the guest cabin when Jessica is captured by the Wendigo. The rifle only has one round and he can use it to shoot the Wendigo at the top of the mineshaft. The rifle jams afterwards even if he hadn't shot at the Wendigo. He also uses the scope to look for Jessica during the chase.
- Machete - Mike finds a machete in the Sanatorium and, if he got his fingers stuck in the bear trap, will use it to either cut his fingers off or open the bear trap. The latter breaks the machete and won't be usable anymore. If intact, he can later use the machete once again in the sanatorium to smack a Wendigo or fend himself if tackled by one.
- Revolver - Mike finds a revolver in the sanatorium and uses it to shoot a lock open. Later, he can use the revolver to unsuccessfully threaten the Stranger, and to potentially shoot Emily if she had been bitten.
- Pistol - Mike uses the pistol Chris was given to hit Josh in the face and knock him unconscious in the old hotel. He then uses it to taunt and intimate Josh on the way to the shed.
- Sawed-Off Shotgun - Mike finds it inside a locked caged in the chapel of the sanatorium when he goes back to get the cable car key from Josh. He uses it to fight off the miner Wendigos and to shoot the barrels that blow the sanatorium up.
- Lighter - Having grabbed a lighter from the guest cabin, Mike uses it in the final showdown to blow the lodge up if he has been downed by a Wendigo and Sam is killed.
Sam
- Baseball Bat - Sam can find a baseball bat in the boiler of the basement, which Josh will then place next to the water pressure gauge. Later, if she hides from the Psycho behind a pillar in the basement, she can use it to hit the Psycho and avoid being caught.
- Vase - Sam has the option to make use of a vase in the cinema room, striking the Psycho with it so she can escape. If this happens, Ashley may find the vase fragments later.
- Shovel - One of two possible weapons Sam may find in the mines on her way to rescue Mike. She may use it to knock back or kill a Wendigo that's attacking Mike.
- Pipe - One of two possible weapons Sam may find in the mines on her way to rescue Mike. She may use it to knock back or kill a Wendigo that's attacking Mike.
The Stranger
- Flamethrower - The primary weapon the Stranger uses when fighting Wendigos.
- Machete - A machete is also used by the Stranger, as seen at the start of the Prologue and Chapter 1.
The Psycho
- Syringe - If the player is most afraid of needles in the Second Therapy Session, then the Psycho will use a syringe against Sam during her chase in Chapter 5.
- Gas Tank - If the player was not most afraid of needles, the Psycho will attempt to capture Sam by using gas. In Chapter 6, he will always knock Chris out by using gas. He will then attempt to subdue Ashley by the same method. However, if she stabs him with the scissors, he will punch her instead.
Trivia
- In Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, you play as Josh using firearms.
- Though the player earns a score, Josh is also a character listed on the scoreboard, second place after his father Bob Washington.
- Josh, Jessica, Sam, and Ashley are the only protagonists to not use any ranged weapons.
- Chris, Matt, and Jessica also use the lighter (determinant for the latter two), but not as a weapon.
- Mike also uses the lighter for non-violent tasks, such as freeing Sam (if she was captured and he lost the machete).
